Daly Cherry-Evans has made it very clear that he hasn’t decided anything when it comes to retiring, with the Sydney Roosters veteran still on the fence about any calls.
Rumours have been rife around “DCE” and his playing future, especially because he signed a one-plus-one deal with the tricolours in Bondi and will be 38 years old before a single match is played in 2027.

There’s been some suggestions he’s already told the Roosters he’s hanging the boots up, including from Nine Sports.
Not quite, according to the NRL champion.
“Mate, I’ve honestly been taking it week by week,” he told ABC Radio.
“There’s a lot of people trying to predict my future… when I figure it out, I’ll let everyone know. And I’ll let my friends and family know, first of all!”
The state of play leaves Cherry-Evans with an option to play on in 2027. While he holds most of the power there, The Sporting Base understands he wants to make the decision alongside the Bondi club.
Wide World of Sports has been reporting that he already had a meeting with league advisor Joe Wehbe and Roosters boss Nick Politis where he decided to “pull the plug on his career.”
Roosters head coach Trent Robinson weighed in recently, too, warning that media reports may be a little off base. “We spoke about it last week because there was another report,” he explained.
“Don’t start reading it. They aren’t ideal to read but I got asked about it. There hasn’t been that sort of discussion between Chez and the club.
“It’s really nice, you talked about deadlines and all of that, but playing what’s in front of you is really key. The exciting stuff for people to read is the long-term stuff or controversy stuff, but we’re in a bit of a zone.”
