Warwick Farm Best Selection & Value Play 7/5
May 6, 2025
Sydney midweek racing heads to Warwick Farm. Our analyst has selected a Waller 3yo that looks well placed dropping back from G3 company over the autumn and a Thompson filly that caught the eye hitting the line hard over 1200m here last start.
Best Selection: R5 – Sigiriya Rock
Sigiriya Rock looks a great bet dropping right back in grade after a 3L 5th in the G3 Frank Packer Plate over 2000m at Randwick on the final day of the carnival. He meets a fairly vanilla field here. The query would be the drop from 2000m back to a mile but I’m happy to back Waller’s judgment here, particularly with the great map.
Value Selection: R8 – Hell Bent On You
Hell Bent On You really caught the eye working home solidly to finish 2nd to Candlewick in a photo at Kensington last start. Candlewick has since been competitive in the G3 Hawkesbury Guineas so you’d expect that form to hold up. He maps to land a little closer drawing Gate 7 in a 16 horse field.
