Valentine Holmes To The NFL?

November 19, 2018

By Lindsay

Valentine Holmes is reportedly set to make the dramatic move of quitting the NRL to pursue an NFL career.

The Cronulla star just returned to Australia following an off-season holiday to the USA and Cuba.

It was at Nike’s head office in the US, where Holmes apparently met with an NFL franchise.

The story was broke by Phil Rothfield for The Daily Telegraph, and while it hasn’t been confirmed, Holmes has previously shown an interested in making such a move.

He and North Queensland’s Jason Taumalolo completed trials in front of NFL scouts back in 2016.

The Queensland and Australian representative’s future was up in the air, with his contract at the Sharks ending at the end of 2019.

While there was heavy speculation of him making a move to the North Queensland Cowboys, it appears as though he’ll be moving much further North.

Jarryd Hayne earlier made the switch, but eventually returned back to the NRL after struggling to make the cut for the first team.
