Unlikely Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson will remain with current teams
March 29, 2023

One of the biggest stories in the National Football League at the moment is surrounding quarterbacks Lamar Jackson of Pompano Beach, Florida and Aaron Rodgers of Chico, California. At this time it appears it will be a miracle if Jackson remains with the Baltimore Ravens and Rodgers remains with the Green Bay Packers.
According to John Breech of CBS Sports, Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst has tried several times to call Rodgers in the offseason, but Rodgers has not returned his calls. A deal between the Packers and New York Jets seems imminent, however there appears to be an issue regarding compensation that is preventing the deal from being complete.
According to the Associated Press on Monday, Jackson has requested a trade from Baltimore because the Ravens are “not interested in meeting” Jackson’s personal value. The Ravens used their franchise tag on Jackson and were confident they could come to terms on a long-term deal.
Rodgers and Jackson are still elite quarterbacks. Rodgers is near the end of his career, while Jackson is very much still in his prime. Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP, as he won in 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021. Jackson meanwhile was the NFL MVP back in 2019.

This past season, Rodgers completed 350 passes in 542 attempts for 3695 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also had 34 rushes for 94 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Jackson meanwhile completed 203 passes in 326 attempts for 2242 yards with 17 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2022. He also had 112 rushes for 764 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.
Do you think Rodgers will be with the Jets next season, and where do you think Jackson will end up? One team possibly interested in Jackson are the Las Vegas Raiders, who may now appear not to be set with  Jimmy Garoppolo as their regular starting quarterback after not showing commitment to Derek Carr, who signed in free agency with the New Orleans Saints.
