Top five rookies from Week 9 of the 2023 NFL season

Week nine of the 2023 National Football League regular season is now complete. Here are the top five performances by rookies on winning teams.
5) Aidan O’Connell
With the change at head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, the Raiders have also made a change at quarterback. Aidan O’Connell of Long Grove, Illinois has replaced Jimmy Garoppolo. On Sunday, O’Connell was very respectable as he completed 16 of 25 passes for 209 yards, in a 30-6 clobbering over the New York Giants.
4) Luke Musgrave
The tight end from Bend, Oregon had three catches for 51 yards and a touchdown as the Green Bay Packers beat the Los Angeles Rams 20-3. Musgrave’s touchdown catch was for 20 yards and came three minutes and 49 seconds left in the game from Jordan Love.
3) Keaton Mitchell
The running back from McDonough, Georgia had nine rushes for 138 yards and one touchdown, in a 37-3 Baltimore Ravens blowout over the Seattle Seahawks. Mitchell’s touchdown was a 40-yard run with 29 seconds left in the third quarter, which put Baltimore up 30-3 at the time. With the win, the Ravens improve to a record of seven wins and two losses and lead the AFC North.
2) Tank Dell
The Houston Texans wide receiver from Daytona Beach, Florida had six catches for 114 yards in the Houston Texans’s 39-37 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dell’s first touchdown was for 29 yards, and the second touchdown was for 15 yards. Dell’s second touchdown catch was the game-winning touchdown catch with six seconds left in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.
1) CJ Stroud
What we saw from Texans quarterback CJ Stroud of Rancho Cucamonga, California was historic. He had 47o passing yards. which was the most by a rookie in a NFL game. The previous record belonged to Marc Bulger of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who had 453 yards passing in a 28-24 St. Louis Rams win over the San Diego Chargers on November 10, 2022. Stroud also became the fifth rookie quarterback in NFL history to have five TD passes in a game.
