The National Football League is 17 weeks complete. Here are the top five rookies from week 17 on winning teams. This year we are including kickers.
5) Jalen McMillan
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver from Fresno, California has filled in admirably for the injured Chris Godwin. On Sunday, McMillan caught five passes for 51 receiving yards and two touchdowns along with nine rushing yards in a 48-14 Buccaneers win over the Carolina Panthers.
4) Bucky Irving
McMillan was not the only rookie Buccaneer to shine in Week 17 against the Panthers. The other was running back Bucky Irving of Chicago, Illinois. The product out of the University of Oregon had 20 rushes for 113 rushing yards and four catches for 77 receiving yards. With the win, the Buccaneers moved into first place in the NFC South at nine wins and seven losses.
3) Ladd McConkey
The Chargers were playoff bound with a 40-7 win over the New England Patriots. It was an admirable game for McConkey of Chatsworth, Georgia, who has emerged as the Chargers no.1 receiver. On Saturday, he had eight catches for 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The touchdown catches were for six and 40 yards. McConkey now leads the Chargers with 77 catches and 1054 receiving yards.
2) Malik Nabers
The New York Giants eliminated the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday with a 45-33 win. The Giants snapped a 10 game losing streak with the victory. The Giants were led by rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers of Lafayette, Louisiana, who had seven catches for a career-high 171 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The touchdown catches were for 31 yards and 59 yards.
1) Jayden Daniels
The Washington Commanders are playoff bound with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels of Fontana, California at the helm. It is clear that Daniels has developed great chemistry with Washington head coach Dan Quinn of Morristown, New Jersey. On Sunday night, Daniels completed 24 of 36 passes for 227 passing yards, and three touchdowns, along with 16 rushes for 127 rushing yards in a 30-24 Washington overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons.
