Tom Brady sets NFL record for most times sacked in a career
October 29, 2022
We all know the remarkable offensive records that Tom Brady of San Mateo, California, currently holds in his National Football League career. However, as he is now 45 years old, Brady also holds some records that are not all that positive or illustrious. Brady holds them because he has the NFL record for the most games played by a non-kicker (326).
On Thursday, Brady set the NFL record for most times sacked in a career with 555. The record-breaking sack occurred with one minute and three seconds left in the first half in a 27-22 Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss to the Baltimore Ravens. At the time of the sack, the Buccaneers were trailing the Ravens 10-3. The old record belonged to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of Lima, Ohio, who was sacked 554 times from 2004 to 2021.

The defensive player on the Ravens who recorded the historic sack was linebacker Justin Houston of Statesboro, Georgia. The sack was for a seven yard loss. This was Houston’s 108th career sack and second of the game, as he also sacked Brady on the immediate previous play for a nine-yard loss with one minute and six seconds left in the first half.
In the second half, Brady was sacked one more time in the game. With one minute and 49 seconds left in the fourth quarter, he was sacked by Ravens defensive lineman Justin Madubuike of Dallas, Texas for a four-yard loss. This was Brady’s 556th career sacks.
Brady is 28th all-time in NFL interceptions (204). However, he does hold the NFL record for the most incompletions with 4170.
