Three golfers who could win the 2026 RBC Heritage
April 16, 2026
Scottie Scheffler (X)
The first major of the season is now complete. The focus now among the PGA Tour stars will be to try and win the red tartan plaid jacket instead of the green jacket. The RBC Heritage this week is taking place at a time when the LIV Tour is in the spotlight. There is growing speculation that the rival golf tour is in financial jeopardy.
Here are the three golfers we like the most this weekend at Hilton Head Island.
Scottie Scheffler
The world number one finished second to Rory McIlroy of Holywood, Nothern Ireland last week at the Masters, after shooting a score of -11. It was Scheffler who was the better golfer over the last two rounds as he was eleven-under-par. That was actually 11 strokes better than the eventual champion. The native of Ridgewood, New Jersey has had great success at the RBC Heritage before. Scheffler won the RBC Heritage in 2024, as he had a four round score of -19. Two years ago he beat American Sahith Theegala by three strokes.
Matt Fitzpatrick
The world number seven from Sheffield, England is also a prior champion. Fitzpatrick won the 2023 RBC Heritage as he beat American Jordan Spieth in a playoff. Fitzpatrick’s winning score two years ago was -17.
Russell Henley
The world number six needs to be considered for the momentum he generated last week at Augusta. In shooting a four round score of -10, the only two golfers who shot better scores were McIlroy (-12) and Scheffler (-11).
