The Plunge’s Saturday Review: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 22/5

A Waller mare that flashed home to just miss first-up is likely to be a big improver next start and earns a spot in this week’s Saturday black book. Click below to read more.

The Plunge’s Service Results:
  • +38.2 units of profit since December
  • 56 bets: 15 wins /13 placings

Starla

  • Race 5
  • Distance 1200m
  • Class: BM 78 Fillies & Mares

Starla is a 4yo mare that the Waller camp clearly have an opinion of considering they threw her in the deep end in a G3 at Flemington where she failed at the end of last prep.

On Saturday she went around 1st-up and settler at the rear from a wide alley. Jockey Tommy Berry was patient and waited for a run up the inside rail in the straight and when given clear running she storm to finish 0.9L away in 3rd.

When To Bet

2nd up over 1300-1400m is where I want to be on her if she stays in Sydney. It will be interesting to see if Waller opts for a tilt at some stronger races in Brisbane.
