A Godolphin mare is the horse to follow from Saturday’s Randwick meeting. Click below to see why she should be followed and where I think she will start next.

Emanate

  • Race 4
  • Distance 1100m
  • BM 78 Handicap

Emanate showed she was full of promise winning 3 straight races at the end of her last preparation. There was plenty of interest surrounding her 1st up run on Saturday but trainer James Cummings confessed that she may need the run in a Saturday morning radio interview.

Emanate jumped well from a wide gate but jockey Rachel King quickly found a wall of horses inside her when she tried to settle midfield. From here she went back to the field but was still wide and was ultimately forced to roll forward. By the turn she was 3 wide, without cover on the speed. Despite all this she fought on and even levelled up to the eventual winner The Face who carried 4kg less. She peaked on her run, confirming her trainers comments and finished 1.5L away in 3rd place.

When To Bet

There is a BM 78 race for mares at Randwick in a fortnights time that looks perfect. Being the start of the autumn carnival there is sure to be some promising horses about but I cannot see anything more appealing in that grade. Subscribe to my black book service for information on when she runs and how she shapes up.
