Taine Tuaupiki has signed a one-year extension with the New Zealand Warriors that keeps the fullback at the club through to the end of the 2029 NRL season.
The One New Zealand Warriors confirmed on Friday that the 27-year-old has locked in a second contract extension in nine months, stretching his stay for a seventh season since his 2023 debut.
Tuaupiki signed a one-year deal in February and has now earned another term. The club said he initially joined on a train-and-trial deal four years ago and has become a first-choice fullback after a career-best 2026.

Webster and McFadden react
Warriors general manager of recruitment, pathways and development Andrew McFadden said Tuaupiki had come off a terrific season.
“Taine has come off a terrific season and proven yet again what an asset he is for the club,” McFadden said. “He’s been a great success story after initially joining us on a train and trial deal four years ago.”
Head coach Andrew Webster said the club was excited to have him for another three years.
“Having Taine here for another three years is hugely exciting for us,” Webster said. “He never stops competing and earned the right this year to play at NRL level consistently for the first time; his game came on so much as a result.
“We have the greatest admiration for him not only as a quality player but also as a wonderful example of someone who is always team-first.”
Career-best season
After 25 games across his first three seasons, Tuaupiki played 22 of the Warriors’ 26 matches in 2026 and sits three short of 50 NRL appearances. The club listed him as topping Warriors metres (3798) and average metres (172), with 124 tackle breaks (eighth in the NRL), 17 line breaks, seven tries and 31 goals at 84 per cent for 90 points.
An individual highlight was running down Manly speedster Jason Saab, voted the Dally M tackle of the year.
The extension ends recent Super League exit talk, with the Warriors keeping their No.1 through 2029.
