National Football League guard Andrus Peat of Chandler, Arizona (pictured 75) retired on Sunday at the age of 32 according to ESPN on Sunday. Peat played 132 games in 11 seasons in the National Football League. He was with the New Orleans Saints for nine years (2015 to 2023), and then one season each with the Las Vegas Raiders (2024) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2025).

Peat played 132 NFL regular season games. He had two fumble recoveries and was selected to the Pro Bowl thrice. The fumble recoveries came with the Saints. The first fumble recovery was in a very high scoring game where 79 total points were scored on December 6, 2015. New Orleans lost to the Carolina Panthers 41-38. The second fumble recovery came in a 37-30 Saints loss to the Green Bay Packers on September 27, 2020. This game was also high scoring as 67 total points were scored.

Like, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall of Phoenix, Arizona (who made NFL headlines this past weekend for his season ending knee surgery), Peat was a first round draft in the NFL. He was selected in the first round, 13th overall, by Stanford University, in the 2015 NFL Draft. While with the Cardinal, Peat won the 2014 Morris Trophy, presented to the top lineman in the PAC-12.

The three times Peat was selected to the Pro Bowl came with the Saints. He was honoured three straight years from 2018 to 2020.

Throughout Peat’s football career, he was known for his impressive footwork. That was a major reason why he was drafted as high as he was 11 years ago.
