Rosehill Best Selection & Value Play 1/4

A rare Tuesday afternoon of G1 racing with Saturday’s Tancred Stakes meeting set to take centre stage. Our analyst has selected a proven European G1 performer and a Neasham & Archibold runner that is proven 3rd up and on wet tracks.

Best Selection: R8- Dubai Honour

Dubai Honour is the one to beat getting to 2400m for the first time in Australia where he should hold a staying advantage compared to a lot of the 2000m races he has contested. He showed he is still capable of mixing it with the best when 2.5L 2nd in the G1 Hong Vase back in December. He holds great records on both Good and Soft ground but is untested on Heavy. I would feel that some on the Softs he has raced on in Europe would be close to our Heavy if that’s what we end up with. He gets nothing but a great run from Gate 4.

Value Selection: R7- Ostraka

Ostraka could be the improver in the Star Kingdom Stakes 3rd up. He drops right back in grade after finishing midfield in the G1 Newmarket at Flemington last start. He won the Silver Eagle 3rd up last prep and is 3: 1-2-0 on wet tracks.
