There was a trade made on Monday in the National Football League between the Philadelphia Eagles and Las Vegas Raiders. According to Erich Richter of the New York Post, the Raiders have traded cornerback Jakorian Bennett of Mobile, Alabama to the Eagles for defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV of Ellicott City, Maryland.

Bennett has spent the last two seasons with the Raiders. He has 26 combined tackles (15 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles), and eight pass deflections. In two seasons, Bennett has 58 combined tackles (39 solo tackles and 19 assisted tackles), and eight pass deflections. He is considered an elite cornerback because he did not allow a single touchdown in 2024, and was on the football field for 461 snaps. There is a strong possibility we could see Bennett as a significant part of the Eagles secondary in 2025. He was originally the Raiders’s fourth round pick, 104th overall, in the 2023 NFL Draft out of the University of Maryland.

Booker IV spent this past season with the Eagles and had 18 combined tackles (10 assisted tackles and eight solo tackles), two tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, one pass deflection and one sack. The pass deflection came on September 22 in a 15-12 Eagles win over the New Orleans Saints. In the Eagles’s 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns on October 13, and in the Eagles’s 41-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys on December 29, Booker IV had a quarterback hit and half a sack in each contest. Booker IV was also on the Eagles team that won the Super Bowl in February.

The Raiders will be Booker’s third NFL team. He played with the Houston Texans in 2022 and was on the Eagles practice squad and did not play any games in 2023.
