RACING: Rosehill Best Selection & Value Play 7/12

9 months ago - Sportingbase RACING: Rosehill Best Selection & Value Play 7/12 Image

Sydney racing takes place at Rosehill on Sunday this week due to the extreme heat predicted for Saturday. Our analyst likes a speedy Waterhouse/Bott 3yo and an Archibald stalwart bringing strong 1st up stats as the value play.

View our best selection and value play below.

Best Selection: R5- Supermassive

Supermassive recorded a slick time winning over 1200m at Canterbury last start. The Waterhouse/Bott 3yo was worked along hard out of the gates to find the lead before pinching a soft mid race sectional. He pinged away halfway up the straight the score a big 1.9L win over the heavily supported Sylph with a 4.1L gap back to 3rd. The 1.09.49 race time was 0.7s faster than the highly rated Tequila Baby in BM64 company later in the day. Whether he cops too much pressure up front is the query.

Value Selection: R8- West of Africa

West of Africa’s best would be good enough to figure here 1st up where he brings a 5: 2-0-1 record. He rocketed home from the rear to finish 1.6L 3rd to Accredited and Yorkshire over 1300m here 1st up last prep before going on to win the Magic Millions Cup. An extra 100m and easier opposition this time looks a positive.
