RACING: Rosehill Best Selection & Value Play 30/8

11 months ago - Sportingbase RACING: Rosehill Best Selection & Value Play 30/8 Image

A talented crop of early season 3yos step out in the G3 Up and Coming and G3 San Domenico at Rosehill on Saturday. Our analyst has run his eye over the whole card and has picked out a speedy Snowden gelding that looks well placed 1st up and a Sargent 7yo dropping back in grade as the value play.

Best Selection: R8- Raging Force

Raging Force was outstanding recording 4L and 2.1L wins at Kensington and Rosehill back in June/July. He has prepared with a pair of Randwick trial wins and will bring residual fitness from those runs a couple of months ago. He looks a real Rosehill 1100m type and gets a great map landing on-speed from Gate 4.

Value Selection: R9- Palmetto

Palmetto looks a good play at $14 in early markets. He was flying at the trials leading all the way for 1L and 1.8L wins over top notch opposition. He resumed with a solid 1.8L 4th in Open Handicap company on a Heavy track. He is definitely better on firmer ground and should be suited to stepping up to 1500m where he has a 5: 3-1-0 record. He gets a nice run on-speed from Gate 1 in a race that consists of a lot of runners that will be giving a big start.
