Saturday Sydney racing returns to Randwick on Saturday. Our analyst likes a pair of Joe Pride runners that look ready to win.
View our best selection and value play below.
Best Selection: R9- Candlewick
The Pride mare looks in great order after recording an effortless Warwick Farm trial win before resuming over 1100m here at Randwick. She jumped fairly before settling off midfield from the wide gate and found herself in an awkward position caught on heels at the top of the straight. When she finally worked into the clear at the 200m she hit the line in an encouraging manner to finish 1L 3rd to Eye of the Fire. Stepping up to 1200m from a much better gate looks a huge tick.

Value Selection: R8- Cool Jakey
The experienced gelding was a 1.5L winner over this track/distance in BM88 company 2 starts back before being a forgive after working hard to find the lead from Gate 18 and fading badly in the Magic Millions Cup last week. I expect him to be peaking here 4th up on the back up. Whilst it is a jump in grade from his last win here, he will appreciate 6kg less weight to carry. The query is whether he gets an easy enough time in front with the likes of Whinchat and Sandpaper engaged but there is enough value there at $7.
