RACING: Gosford Best Selection & Value Play 9/5

Metro Sydney racing heads to Gosford on Saturday for the annual Coast. Our analyst likes a Snowden 4yo that looks well placed in the Takeover Target and a Waller gelding that looks ready to string wins together in the feature.

Best Selection: R7- King of Roseau 

The Snowden 4yo is in great order following an impressive 1.3L win in the G3 Liverpool City Cup before returning with an eye-catching Rosehill trial. 1200m may be slightly suspect for him with only 1 win from 8 attempts but he does hold an outstanding 1300m record. There will be plenty of speed in this race and I can see him getting a soft run from Gate 6 around midfield.

Value Selection: R8- Rotagilla

The Waller 4yo impressed with his 0.5L win in BM94 company. He settled at the rear and had a lot to do on the turn. Schiller had a lap full of horse at the top of the straight as he eventually bulldozed his way into clear running going better than opening fav Polymnia before going on to claim victory. The drop from 1800m back to 1600m in a race that appears to lack speed is a concern but I want to be trusting of the stable and he gets map upside from Gate 6 after jumping from Gate 10 last start. He is really well weighted with only 53kg.
