The Indiana Pacers clobbered the Washington Wizards 162-109 on Thursday night. In the process, the Pacers set a franchise record for most points scored in a game. The Wizards set a franchise record for most points allowed in a game. The Pacers also set a franchise record for most three point shots made in a game with 27.
The previous record the Pacers had for most points scored in a game was 157. They accomplished the feat both times against the Atlanta Hawks. The first time came in a 157-152 overtime win on November 21, 2023, and matched on April 14, 2024 in a 157-115 Pacers win.
The previous record the Wizards had for most points allowed in a game was 159. That was set on October 30, 2019 in a 159-158 Wizards loss to the Houston Rockets.
Nine Pacers players reached double digits in points. They were guard Tyrese Haliburton of Oshkosh, Wisconsin (29), center Myles Turner of Bedford, Texas (17), power forward Jarace Walker of New Freedom, Pennsylvania (16), power forward Obi Toppin of Brooklyn, New York (15), power forward Pascal Siakam of Douala, Cameroon (13), center Thomas Bryant of Rochester, New York (12), small forward Aaron NeSmith of Charleston, South Carolina (11), small forward Bennedict Mathurin of Montreal, Quebec, Canada (10), and  point guard T.J. McConnell of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (10).
Haliburton, meanwhile, led the Pacers with seven three point shots. In an interesting statistic, Indiana scored 162 points, but not one player registered a single double double. McConnell led the Pacers with nine rebounds, and was tied for the Indiana lead in assists with eight, alongside Canadian guard Andrew Nembhard of Aurora, Ontario.
The Pacers have the fourth best record in the Eastern Conference. They are at 43 wins and 30 losses.
