Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 12/8
August 14, 2023
Our analyst has reviewed the sectional times, ratings & replays from last Saturday’s Rosehill meeting & has placed five horses you must follow below.
Race 4: 1200m – Olentia
- Race Tempo: Average
- 600m to 400m: 11.42
- 400m to 200m: 10.84
- Final 200m: 11.24
This is an obvious one for most punters but this mare was very impressive and looking forward to her second run this prep you will see that she is 2 from 2 and is a Group 3 winner at 1400m.
When To Bet:
Looking to back her wherever she goes next start.

Race 8: 1200m – Griff
- Race Tempo: Slow
- 600m to 400m: 11.84
- 400m to 200m: 10.88
- Final 200m: 10.80
It was the stablemate that won the race but this colt showed us that when he gets to 1400m+ he is going to get up at good odds.
When To Bet:
Be wary if he runs under 1200m next start but anything over the 1200m mark will see him being a great bet.

Race 9: 1400m – Madame Pommery
- Race Tempo: Slow
- 600m to 400m: 11.44
- 400m to 200m: 10.76
- Final 200m: 11.24
This mare backed up a slick trial with a great run first up. She may be short next start but if she gets to the 1600m she should just win.
When To Bet:
Basically anything 1600m+

Race 10: 1100m – Molly Nails
- Race Tempo: Average
- 600m to 400m: 11.16
- 400m to 200m: 11.20
- Final 200m: 11.00
This mare was off a 51 week break which suggests there was an issue so we want to be careful with her but her sectionals were impressive and if she happens to improve she will be one we want to be on.
When To Bet:
A BM78 and below but only at juicy odds to negate the risk off second up after long break failure.
