Bunnies unable to hang with Panthers in 1st game post-Demetriou

The Panthers poured on 42 unanswered points to down the Rabbitohs 42-12 at Accor Stadium on Thursday night.

To make matters worse for the Rabbitohs, Cameron Murray, Jai Gray, and Dean Hawkins all suffered injuries that will see them sidelined for multiple weeks.

An Izack Tago sin bin paved the way for the Rabbitohs to grab two early tries through Izaac Tu’itupou Thompson and Hawkins before the defending premiers stamped their authority.

With Jai Arrow binned, Sunia Turuva and Brad Schneider crossed before Luke Garner, Lindsay Smith, Taylan May, Luke Garner and Tago all found four-pointers for the Panthers as they ran away for their third win in a row.

Raiders pull off almighty comeback to down Manly

Manly blew a 20-point lead to go down to the Raiders 26-24 at 4 Pines Park on Friday evening.

Tom Trbojevic and Tommy Talau got the Eagles on the board early before an Albert Hopoate bin paved the way for Daly Cherry-Evans and Reuben Garrick to cross and make it 20-0.

Kaeo Weekes grabbed a try against his former club shy of halftime before Garrick grabbed another on the other side of the half to make it 24-6 with less than a half-hour to play.

Two Elliott Whitehead tries in the space of five minutes turned the tide before Nick Čotrić grabbed another for the Green Machine.

Hudson Young pounced on an Ethan Strange grubber in the 76th minute to seal the comeback for the Raiders.

Injury curse strikes Broncos as Roosters manage big win

The losses of Adam Reynolds and Jesse Arthars proved too much to overcome as the Broncos fell to the high-flying Roosters 40-18 at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

An Angus Crichton double along with a Joseph Manu try put the Roosters up 18-0 at the break.

Bulldogs hold off Wests Tigers in fiery clash

The Dogs won their third game from their past four downing the Wests Tigers 22-14 at Accor Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors took an eight-point edge into the break courtesy of tries to Charlie Staines and Fonua Pole before a Josh Curran try compounded by a pair of penalty goals saw the Dogs hit the lead.

Bronson Xerri grabbed one to earn the hosts an eight-point buffer before things descended into chaos with David Klemmer and Alex Seyfarth both binned late for the visitors.

Matt Burton assisted on a try and kicked for 252 metres whilst Viliame Kikau ran for 124 metres with seven tackle breaks and made 17 tackles.

Jahream Bula assisted on a pair of line breaks and ran for 182 metres with 10 tackle breaks whilst Sam Fainu ran for 103 metres and made 36 tackles.

Storm survive Titans on Gold Coast

The Storm finished atop the Titans 22-20 on the Gold Coast but had their celebrations dampened by news that Ryan Papenhuyzen suffered a lower leg fracture that is set to sideline him for 4-to-6 weeks.

Dolphins take down Cowboys in Saturday night thriller

The Cowboys continued their slide falling to the Dolphins 28-26 in a tight one in Townsville for their fourth-straight loss.

A high-scoring first half saw the Cowboys – with Kyle Feldt, Reuben Cotter, Jeremiah Nanai and Sam McIntyre the try-scorers – take a 22-18 lead into the sheds despite a Jamayne Isaako double.

Isaako secured his hat-trick in the second half before Jake Averillo gave the visitors the lead.

Nanai grabbed his second in the 77th minute but Valentine Holmes’ conversion was waved away as the Dolphins secured a crucial win to remain in the top four.

Isaako scored three and ran for 135 metres whilst Kodi Nikorima assisted on a trio of tries and kicked for 149 metres.

Scott Drinkwater assisted on two tries and ran for 131 metres whilst Cotter scored a try, ran for 102 metres with seven tackle breaks, and made 47 tackles.

Knights beat Warriors in hard-fought affair

The Knights secured their second win in a row without Kalyn Ponga handing the Warriors a 14-8 defeat – their third in a row – in wet conditions in the Hunter.

Tyson Gamble got the scoring started for the hosts before Dylan Walker answered just shy of the half-hour mark.

Daniel Saifiti crossed for the only second half points to secure a gutsy win for Adam O’Brien’s men.

Saifiti scored a try and ran for 100 metres with five tackle breaks whilst Dylan Lucas ran for 87 metres and made 45 tackles.

Addin Fonua-Blake ran for 184 metres and made 32 tackles whilst Tohu Harris assisted on a try, ran for 132 metres and made 36 tackles.

Sharks win wet local derby over Dragons

The Sharks remain atop the competition table having taken down the Dragons 20-10 in a dour affair at PointsBet Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Dragons took a 10-6 lead into the sheds behind a Mikaele Ravalawa double before the Sharks stormed home to win it.

It was a Siosifa Talakai try that put the hosts ahead before Tom Hazelton crossed to give them the necessary breathing room.

Nicho Hynes assisted on two tries and ran for 110 metres whilst Hazelton scored a try and ran for 125 metres with four tackle breaks.

Jaydn Su’A ran for 149 metres with six tackle breaks and made 26 tackles whilst Tom Eisenhuth ran for 68 metres and made 66 tackles with just one miss.
