While the deal has not yet been officially confirmed, Nikorima is understood to have agreed to terms, with an announcement expected once the remaining formalities are completed.

Experienced Utility Set for Dragons Move

Nikorima has been a key member of the Dolphins’ squad since the club entered the NRL in 2023, featuring across multiple positions including five-eighth, halfback, fullback and hooker.

His versatility is believed to have been a major factor in St George Illawarra’s pursuit, giving incoming coach Dean Young another experienced option capable of filling several roles across the spine.

The proposed contract would keep Nikorima at the Dragons through the end of the 2028 season.

Dragons Continue Recruitment Drive

If the signing is finalised, Nikorima will become the latest addition to a Dragons squad that has already secured several high-profile recruits for 2027.

According to ESPN, the club has already signed Scott Drinkwater, Luke Metcalf, Keaon Koloamatangi, Phillip Sami and Connor Watson as it continues reshaping its roster ahead of next season.

The addition of Nikorima would further increase the club’s depth and experience across several key positions.

Dolphins Farewell Long-Serving Playmaker

Nikorima has played an important role for the Dolphins since their inaugural campaign, bringing experience to the club after previous stints with the Brisbane Broncos and New Zealand Warriors.

Although the move has not yet been formally announced, all indications are that the veteran playmaker will begin the next chapter of his NRL career at St George Illawarra in 2027.
