DeVante Parker of Louisville, Kentucky is the latest National Football League wide receiver to be traded in the offseason. Following the deals of Davante Adams, Amari Cooper, and Tyreek Hill, the New England Patriots acquired Parker from the Miami Dolphins for a third round draft pick in the 2023 National Football League Draft.
Ironically, Parker became a little expendable when the Dolphins acquired Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs for five draft picks on March 23. The 29-year-old has spent his entire seven-year National Football League career with the Dolphins, and now he is with a division foe of Miami’s in the East Division of the American Football Conference.
In 2021, Parker had 40 catches for 515 yards and two touchdowns, but missed seven gamed with a hamstring injury. His best game during the 2021 season came in Halloween in a 26-11 Miami loss to the Buffalo Bills. Parker had season highs in catches (eight), and yards (85). His touchdown catches this past season came in a 27-17 Dolphins loss to the Indianapolis Colts on October 3, and in a 31-24 Dolphins win overt the New York Jets on December 19.
For his career, Parker has had 338 catches for 4727 yards and 24 touchdowns. Parker’s best season came in 2019, when he had 72 catches for 1202 yards and nine touchdowns. Those were career-highs in all three categories.
Parker’s best game of his NFL career came on December 1, 2019. He had seven catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-31 Dolphins win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Prior to playing in the NFL, Parker played his college football at the University of Louisville. He was with the University of Louisville Cardinals in the picture shown above.
