The fourth week of the 2024 National Football League season is just hours away. Here are some of the notable stories.

Key Injuries

The two most notable injuries this past week came on defense. Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton of Thousand Oaks, California is gone for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, and San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave of Salisbury, North Carolina tore his partial tricep, and is likely gone the majority of the season. Singleton has a strong following in Canada as he was a star for three years from 2016 to 2018 with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.

Fantasy Stars

The top rated quarterback for the week is Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. The three-time Super Bowl MVP is projected to get 270 yards passing, two touchdown passes, and 22 yards rushing on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers in an AFC West Division battle.

The top rated wide receiver of the week is CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys. The Opelousas, Louisiana native is projected to get seven catches for 89 receiving yards and one touchdown on Thursday night against the New York Giants.

The top rated running back for the week is Breece Hall of the New York Jets. The Omaha, Nebraska native is projected to get 17 rushes for 79 rushing yards and four catches for 26 receiving yards and one touchdown against the Broncos. The loss of Singletary, will significantly weaken the Broncos defensive line.

Projected Upsets

There are two underdogs I like this week. They are the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills. The Browns’s opponent, Las Vegas Raiders, simply looked awful against the Carolina Panthers last week. The Browns are better than the Panthers. The Bills meanwhile have been great the first three weeks and have three more days to prepare than their opponent, the Baltimore Ravens.
