In the 24th of a 32-part series, we will feature all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Today we will look at the New York Giants.
Key Off Season Acquisitions
On offense, the Giants made some significant acquisitions to the offensive line. They acquired center Jon Feliciano of East Meadow, New York in free agency from the Buffalo Bills to a one year-contract worth $3.25 million, right guard Mark Glowinski of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in free agency from the Indianapolis Colts to a three year-contract worth $20 million, and selected offensive tackle Evan Neal of Okeechobee, Florida in the first round, seventh overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama.
On defense, the Giants acquired nose tackle Justin Ellis of Monroe, Louisiana via free agency from the Baltimore Ravens. Ellis signed a one-year contract worth $1.3 million. Last season he had 18 combined tackles and one quarterback hit. The Giants will also be counting on their first round pick, Kayvon Thibodeaux to have an impact. Thibodeaux was the fifth overall pick from the University of Oregon. The native of Los Angeles is slated to be the Giants starter at linebacker.
When it comes to coaching, the Giants turned to a Canadian to replace Joe Judge. Brian Daboll of Welland, Ontario was named the Giants head coach on January 28. Daboll replaces Joe Judge, who was fired on January 11.
Fantasy Stars
There are no Giants ranked in the top 10 in the respective positions for fantasy heading into the season.
Projected Finish
The Giants only won four games in all of last year, and a return to the basement in the NFC East will probably happen once again.
