Moonee Valley Rapidfire Preview & Selections

6 years ago - Sportingbase Moonee Valley Rapidfire Preview & Selections Image

Our analysts are having another crack at Rapidfire and after their successful selections last start they’re confident of going back to back at today’s Moonee Valley meeting.

The process is simple where horses are placed head to head and if you select 3 horses correctly you will win 1.8x your bet but if you choose to select 5 horses and are correct you win 20x your bet!

Here’s a look at our analyst’s selections.

Baaqyah Vs The Big Easy – Race 1

Baaqyah
  • Jockey: L Nolen
  • Trainer: D & B Hayes & T Dabernig
  • Barrier: 8
The Big Easy
  • Jockey: L Meech
  • Trainer: C Maher & D Eustace
  • Barrier: 1

Leaning towards the race experience of Baaqyah for the Hayes and Dabernig stable, ran well in the Maribynong Plate, has shown very good early speed and will take up the running from the wide draw.

Selection – Baaqyah

Balaabel Vs November Dreaming – Race 2

Balaabel
  • Jockey: B Vorster
  • Trainer: T & C McEvoy
  • Barrier: 6
November Dreaming
  • Jockey: L Meech
  • Trainer: D O’Brien
  • Barrier: 2

Confident in the McEvoy trained Balaabel here, consistent filly that was dominant last start when dropping back to maiden grade for an easy kill, will get back but will be advantaged by the fast early pace.

Selection – Balaabel

Can’tforgetyou Vs Equal Love – Race 3

Can’tforgetyou
  • Jockey: D Stackhouse
  • Trainer: A Noblet
  • Barrier: 6
Equal Love
  • Jockey: T Stockdale (a3)
  • Trainer: P Stokes
  • Barrier: 2

Tough to split these two but have gone with the mare Can’tforgetyou for trained Andrew Noblet, won well at the track and distance last start and the early pace in the race will ensure he is able to finish over the top of them late

Selection – Can’tforgetyou

Mystyko Vs Wagner – Race 4

Mystyko
  • Jockey: B Park
  • Trainer: T Rogers
  • Barrier: 5
Wagner
  • Jockey: D Dunn
  • Trainer: J Cummings
  • Barrier: 4

Slightly leaning to Mystyko here having the advantage of having a run under his belt, the first-up run was very good in stakes grade finishing 0.8 lengths off Viridine and will appreciate the drop in grade.

Selection – Mystyko

Lorenzetti Vs Spearhead – Race 5

Lorenzetti
  • Jockey: J Noonan
  • Trainer: J Edwards
  • Barrier: 2
Spearhead
  • Jockey: B Rawiller
  • Trainer: S Hasan
  • Barrier: 3

Spearhead tried leading all the way last start over 16000m at Cranbourne in lower grade only getting run down late, will make its luck on the pace and appreciate the weight off his back.

Selection – Spearhead
