Michael Brennan of Leesburg, Virginia has won the 2026 Wyndham Championship for his second career PGA Tour victory. He previously won the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship at the Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah.
This past weekend at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, Brennan posted a winning score of -22. He beat fellow American Beau Hossler of Rancho Santa Margarita, California by three strokes. Hossler finished in second place at -19.
By winning the Wyndham Championship, Brennan qualified for the FedEx Cup playoffs. He moved from 105th place to 47th place in the Fed Ex Cup standings. The top 70 qualified for the FedEx Cup playoffs. The second place finish for Hossler was not enough for him to get into the FedEx Cup playoffs, as he only moved up to 72nd place.
The Wyndham Championship victory was surprising when you consider the fact that Brennan had only one top 10 finish this season. That was a sixth place finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge. In North Carolina over the last four days, Brennan posted a first round score of four-under-par 66, a second round score of five-under-par 65, a third round score of seven-under-par 63, and a fourth round score of six-under-par 64.
Brennan’s most notable hole was the 15th hole in the second round on Friday. There, Brennan recorded an eagle on the par five. He had a 328 yard tee shot, 199 yard approach shot, and made an eagle putt of five feet and seven inches.
The Fed Ex Cup Playoffs begin this weekend. Golfers will be competing this year in Memphis, St. Louis and Atlanta.
