Marvin Harrison Jr is the subject of trade reports saying the Arizona Cardinals are finalising a deal, with the destination still not confirmed and Houston named as a possible landing spot.
According to ESPN, sources told Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Saturday that the Cardinals are finalising a deal to trade wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. ESPN reported the club informed Harrison he would be inactive for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions as the trade is completed.
The Arizona Cardinals’ official site (Darren Urban, 10 October 2026) said multiple reports on Saturday stated the team will trade Harrison, while noting when remained uncertain. NFL Network reported Harrison would be inactive for the Lions game at State Farm Stadium, Urban wrote.
Role and production under Mike LaFleur
Urban said Harrison has five catches on 12 targets for 85 yards and one touchdown through four games this season. His role has shrunk since the arrival of coach Mike LaFleur, and All-Pro tight end Trey McBride is the Cardinals’ No. 1 pass catcher, according to azcardinals.com.
Asked about trade chatter on Thursday, Harrison said: “I’m only focused on Detroit, helping the Cardinals win football games at the moment,” adding: “So whatever rumors you’re talking about, I don’t pay it no mind,” per the club site.

Houston in the mix, Colts ruled out in reports
azcardinals.com said reports named the Houston Texans as a possible destination, noting C.J. Stroud was Harrison’s college quarterback and citing prior trade history between the Cardinals under GM Monti Ossenfort and Houston. Multiple Indianapolis reports have ruled out the Colts, Urban wrote.
Pro Football Talk / NBC Sports (Mike Florio, 10 October) said the Cardinals are working on a trade, with speculation centred on the Texans. Florio wrote the package is expected to include a second-round pick, with the Texans having offered a 2028 second-rounder while the Cardinals push for a 2027 second-round pick. No destination or compensation has been confirmed by the clubs.
