LeBron James is one of the greatest players in NBA history. In fact he is number four on our list of the best players ever. On Saturday night at Crypto.com Arena in southern California, James had one of the best games he has ever had in his NBA career.

In 38 minutes and 33 seconds of action, James had 56 points and 10 rebounds as the Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors 124-116. He made 19 of 31 field goal attempts, six of 11 three-point attempts, and 12 of 13 free throw attempts.

The 56 points James had on Saturday was tied for the third most points he has had in one game in his career. James had 61 points in a 124-107 Miami Heat win over the Charlotte Bobcats on March 3, 2014. He also had 57 points in a 130-122 Cleveland Cavaliers win over the Washington Wizards on November 3, 2017. The other time James had a 56-point game was on March 20, 2005 in a 105-98 Cleveland loss to the Toronto Raptors.

The 56 points James scored on Saturday, was tied for the most points scored by one player all season. Trae Young had 56 points for the Atlanta Hawks in a 136-131 Hawks loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on January 3, 2022.

According to ESPN, James at 37 years old, is the oldest player in NBA history to have 55 points and 10 rebounds in a game. He is also the fourth player in NBA history to score 50 points in a game at 37 or older. James is joined by Jamal Crawford, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

With the win, the Lakers improved to 28 wins and 35 losses. They are ninth in the Western Conference.
