We now know where the AFC Championship on January 29 will be just in case if the game is played between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. According to Mike Florio of NBC Sports on Thursday, the game will be at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, home of the Atlanta Falcons.
A neutral site for the game was decided by the National Football League because of the decision to cancel the Week 17 regular season game between the Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2 from Cincinnati. The game was stopped with five minutes and 58 seconds left in the first quarter when Bills safety Damar Hamlin of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania collapsed on the field at around midfield after tackling Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The Bengals were leading the Bills 7-3 at the time.

It was considered a scary moment as Hamlin required CPR before being taken to a University of Cincinnati hospital. Earlier this week according to Chris Cwik of Yahoo! Sports, Hamlin was discharged from a Buffalo hospital and was cleared to rehabilitate from home.
The reason why the NFL chose the neutral site route is because the Bills had the opportunity to be the number one seed if they had beaten the Bengals. Kansas City finished the regular season with a record of 14 wins and three losses for a winning percentage of .824. Buffalo finished the regular season with a record of 13 wins and three losses for a winning percentage of .813. In the AFC Wildcard game on Sunday, Buffalo hosts Miami.
