Jamie Kah’s quest to win her hometown Adelaide Cup has been given a major boost with Daqiansweet Junior drawn today to barrier two for Monday’s race at Morphetville.
The four-year-old gelding is the betting favourite for the Cup at $4.60 (TAB), slightly ahead of Skelm at $5 (TAB) and Tigertiger at $5.50 (TAB).
Skelm beat Daqiansweet Junior by three lengths at The Valley last start, but with a jump up from 2500 metres to 3200, it will be interesting to see how the horses react to the extra distance.
Prior to being beaten by Skelm on February 18, Daqiansweet Junior was on a four-race win-streak with wins at 1600 metres, 2040 metres, 2000 metres and 2500 metres.
Heading into Monday’s Adelaide Cup, Daqiansweet Junior is in good form and Kah will be looking to take advantage of the favourable draw to win at her home meeting.
The prize money for the race is at $302,250 and is tipped to start at 4:15pm.
