The Canberra Raiders have signed prop Josiah Pahulu from the Melbourne Storm on a one-year deal, with both clubs confirming the move on Friday.
The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders said the 22-year-old front-rower joins having played 23 NRL games across the Storm and Gold Coast Titans, and will bring depth to the pack ahead of the 2027 pre-season.
The Melbourne Storm later confirmed Pahulu’s departure “with immediate effect”, thanking him for his contribution in the purple jersey and wishing him well for the next chapter in Canberra.

Hutchison welcomes “explosive” prop
Raiders NRL recruitment manager Chris Hutchison said Pahulu would be a strong addition to a young forward group at the club.
“Josiah is an explosive young forward, and we’re excited to see what he can bring to the Canberra Raiders,” Hutchison said. “He’s a big, mobile front-rower who has shown plenty of ability so far in his early career. We have a strong crop of young forwards here at the Raiders and Josiah will only add to that.”
Third club in three seasons
Pahulu made his NRL debut in round 5, 2024 and was named the Titans’ Rookie of the Year that season after a promising first year of first grade. He left the Gold Coast during the 2025 season for Melbourne, where he was listed as Storm player No. 253.
According to the Storm, he made his purple-jersey debut in round 19, 2026 against the Titans at AAMI Park and finished the campaign with one NRL appearance and 16 NSW Cup games. The Raiders’ release put his combined first-grade tally at 23 matches for both clubs.
Limited senior opportunity in Melbourne made a fresh start attractive. The one-year Canberra deal gives Pahulu an immediate pathway into Ricky Stuart’s pre-season program as the Raiders reshape their forward stocks for 2027.
