Jacob Bridgeman of Inman, South Carolina won the very first Biltmore Championship in Asheville, North Carolina on Sunday. Bridgeman posted a winning score of -26 and beat fellow American Ben James of Milford, Connecticut by two strokes.
Bridgeman had a first round score of five-under-par 66, a second round score of four-under-par 67, third round score of seven-under-par 64, and a fourth round score of 10-under-par 61. Bridgeman’s fourth round score of 61 was the second best score in the final round among all champions on the PGA Tour in 2026. Wyndham Clark of Denver, Colorado had a fourth round score of 60 when he won the 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson in May.
Bridgeman’s score of 61 was the best ever score he has ever had on the PGA Tour. It was highlighted by an eagle on the par-five eighth hole. Bridgeman had a tee shot of 306 yards, approach shot of 206 yards and an eagle putt of 10 feet and two inches.
This was the second eagle Bridgeman had over the weekend in Asheville. He also eagled the par five 15th hole in round two on Friday. Bridgeman had a tee shot of 275 yards, approach shot of 239 yards and a putt of 14 feet and 11 inches.
This was Bridgeman’s second PGA Tour victory and second victory of 2026. He previously won the 2026 Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles in February.
The Biltmore Championship is new, but it is not the first time that the PGA Tour has been in Asheville. Golf legend Ben Hogan of Stephenville, Texas won three consecutive Asheville Land of the Sky Open titles from 1940 to 1942. Hogan won 64 PGA Tour titles (which is the fourth most of all-time) and won nine major championships from 1946 to 1953.
