The Jacksonville Jaguars are moving to Orlando, Florida for the 2027 National Football League season according to the Associated Press on Tuesday. The reason for the move is because the Jaguars are renovating EverBank Stadium for the 2025 and 2026 NFL seasons.
The temporary move is a little controversial however. That is because the distance between Jacksonville and Orlando is two hours and seven minutes. Another question is what will happen for Jaguars’s ticket holders for the short term and long term?
The Jaguars also announced that their capacity will drop from 85,000 to 42,507 in 2026 due to the start of the renovations. The capacity of Camping World Stadium in Orlando is 65,000.
It should be noted that the Jaguars will not play all of their regular season games in Orlando. They are expected to play three of their regular season games in London, England. Remember, Jacksonville’s owner is Shahid Khan of Lahore, Pakistan, and has a connection to Great Britain. That is because he also owns Fulham of the English Premier League. Khan is recognized as a hands-on owner, and made NFL headlines when he fired general manager Trent Baalke in 2025. The firing contributed to Liam Coen’s decision to accept the Jaguars’s head coaching job rather than return as the offensive co-ordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Camping World Stadium has a connection to the NFL. They have hosted the Pro Bowl (also known as the NFL All-Star Game) on six occasions. Most of the NFL’s best came to Orlando for four straight seasons from 2016 to 2019, and again in 2023 and 2024.
