Hungarian GP Preview: Our Tips & Staking Plan

Mercedes have shown they are clearly the team to beat again this season with 2 dominant victories in Austria but we have a feeling Red Bull will be better suited in Hungary.

The Silver Arrows may have struggled under the conditions and the demanding circuit of Austria in recent times but they proved that they’re hard to beat on any track at any time by taking out the 2 Austrian Grand Prix’s in dominant fashion.

They will be looking to up their game again ahead of Hungary which many predict will suit the Red Bull’s as it is not a circuit that demands so much of the power unit.

Racing Point showed they’re also a team to watch out for after Perez showed great pace in Austria and managed to finish 6th despite damaging his wing in the final laps.

Another driver to watch is the improving Lando Norris who has already accumulated 26 points from 2 races this season which is impressive as he managed only 49 during the whole 2019 season.

Here’s a look at what you need to know & our tips for the Hungarian GP

Key Quote

“It’s naturally different from last week’s circuit being that here it’s not a power demanding circuit, it’s more about the downforce efficiency,” he explained.

“So if you look at previous years we’ve been here, Red Bull have generally gone well. They tend to do even better on circuits like this and Monaco where it’s all about the downforce package.

“So it will definitely close up the whole field and it’s going to be a real challenge I think, a good battle. We already saw some great performance from them in practice in Austria, and I think they are still very strong in the race – I think here even more so. So we really need to bring our A-game this weekend.”

– Lewis Hamilton confident momentum could help ‘get the right result’ in Hungary

Our Tip

It’s hard to see Hamilton being beaten here but the $1.50 that is on offer is hard to take especially as there are a few whispers about reliability issues with the Mercedes.

Max Verstappen managed to take pole last year and we feel he can do it again and if he does he will be hard to beat which makes the $12 Verstappen to win Qualifying & Race market is very appealing.

Value Tip

Esteban Ocon showed great pace in the Styrian GP before retiring due to cooling issues so we want to have something on him finishing in the top 6 at $11.
