George Ryder Stakes Review: What The Jockeys Said
March 22, 2020
The John Thompson trained Dreamforce was at his best yesterday and was rewarded with the George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill Yesterday.
Nash Rawiller (Dreamforce – 1st)
I put the pedal to the metal well before straightening. I was sitting well out on the track but then cut the corner then continued out without knowing what happened behind me. I was hoping to throw them into disarray. He showed a lovely turn of foot but I really thought at the 100m that I was going to get beat. To his credit, he lifted again and fought the other bloke off which was pretty thrilling.
James McDonald (The Bostonian – 2nd)
Super run. He is going well.
Opie Bosson (Te Akau Shark – 3rd)
The 1500m was probably just a little bit too sharp for him today.
Glen Boss (Brandenburg – 4th)
Outstanding.
Hugh Bowman (Alizee – 5th)
That was a much-improved effort off last start.
Kerrin McEvoy (Best Of Days – 6th)
Good run. They went too slow.
Mark Zahra (Super Seth – 7th)
They went too slow.
Tommy Berry (Happy Clapper – 8th)
He went well. He just didn’t step well enough.
Tim Clark (Spend – 9th)
He wasn’t quite up to it today.
