Not a fashionable combination, but loved the debut of this mare in a hot maiden race at Northam run 3.5L faster than average for the 1100m course. Trialled up very stylishly before that, from barrier 3 think Vic Corver can position her up here in the first 4, up 100m in distance suits, drops 1kg, she stays out of trouble and she looks very hard to beat, think that Northam maiden will more than hold up as a form reference.

This looks to be the race for Sky Duke. Very moderate CL1 field assembled, was unlucky when protesting unsuccessfully last start when beaten by very handy 1000m sprinter Lexington City, beating home subsequent winner Galaxy Cat in the process. Drops in grade from a CL3 back to a CL1, drawn the inside, can either lead or box-seat with a cutaway on offer, hard to make a case against, he looks very hard to beat.

Big opinion of this galloper resuming for the Taylor yard. Loved his recent trial where he and Tadweer paired off and bolted away over the 1000m in very slick time, he looked to be doing it very easily too. Looks very progressive and the form through his debut campaign is also very strong, particularly his most recent effort when 2nd to the very smart Capital Flight, beating home numerous subsequent winners in the process. Can either roll to the top here or position up very handy with not a great deal of speed drawn underneath and be very hard to get past.
