Four more golfers join the LIV Tour

According to Patrick McDonald of CBS Sports, four more golfers have joined the LIV Tour. They are Joaquin Niemann of Santiago, Chile, Cameron Tringale of Mission Viejo, California, Harold Varner III of Akron, Ohio and Anirban Lahiri of Pune, India.

The four additions to the LIV Tour joins Australians Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman, who were also officially announced to the LIV Tour on Tuesday. It had been reported earlier this month that Smith and Leishman were joining the LIV Tour, when Australian golfer Cameron Percy unveiled the news.

We all know what an outstanding season Smith has had. Niemann also has a PGA Tour win under his belt in 2022 as he won the 2022 Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. This was Niemann’s second career win on the PGA Tour as he also won the 2019 Greenbrier Classic. When Niemann won in West Virginia three years ago, he became the first Chilean golfer ever to win on the PGA Tour.

In the official World Golf Rankings, Niemann, Tringale, Varner III and Lahiri are all ranked in the top 100. Niemann is 19th, Tringale is 55th, Varner III is 46th, and Lahiri is 92nd.

There are five more LIV Tour events to close out the year. Three events are in the United States, while there is one each in Saudi Arabia and Thailand. Reminder, Saudi Arabia is financing the LIV Tour.

Now it will be interesting to see who the International Team replaces Smith and Niemann with for the 2022 Presidents Cup. They are no longer eligible to compete in the event because they have left the PGA Tour for the LIV Tour.
