EPL Week 12 Preview: Stats, Insights & Everything You Need To Know

Week 12 of the EPL is here and with it being the final weekend of Premier League action before the November international break we expect some great performances.

CARDIFF VS BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION – SATURDAY 10 NOVEMBER, 12:30 PM, CARDIFF CITY STADIUM

Brighton & Hove Albion are targeting a return to winning ways after their run of three straight victories was halted by Everton.

They visit a Cardiff City side who are seeking to bounce back from two defeats and move out of the bottom three.

This game has the makings of a low scoring battle with Cardiff struggling to score this season for the most part and Brighton being rather solid defensively (last week’s loss to Everton notwithstanding).

Huddersfield are aiming to secure a second successive Premier League victory for the first time since February. West Ham are bidding to do the same for the first time since January 2017.

Huddersfield has scored just five goals all season and there are serious questions about whether or not they have the firepower to chase down West Ham.

Leicester City are aiming to build on their victory at Cardiff City, while Burnley are seeking to stop a three-match losing run.

Leicester are the only side to have scored in all of their 11 Premier League matches so far this season. It is only the second time they have achieved that feat, after 2015/16 when they won the title.

Claude Puel’s side hope to stop conceding the opening goal in their PL home matches. They have done so in their last four top-flight fixtures at King Power Stadium, winning one, drawing one and losing two.

Finally off the mark in 2018/19 through its victory over Watford last weekend, Newcastle United will look to get on a roll when Bournemouth makes the trip to St. James’ Park.

Newcastle are aiming to secure a second successive top-flight victory for the first time since April.

AFC Bournemouth have to chance to win a third consecutive top-flight away match for the first time ever. They last achieved that feat in the league in their final three Championship away fixtures in 2014/15.

A quick examination of Watford’s last five games might raise some concerns.

Three losses and just two wins will not exactly inspire a whole lot of confidence but when you consider who those losses have come against, that should alleviate some of the concerns.

Only one of Southampton’s 21 home league meetings with Watford has ended in a draw – a 1-1 tie in August 2016. The Saints have won 14 of the encounters to Watford’s six.

Tottenham Hotspur are targeting a seventh victory from eight Premier League away matches this season as they visit London rivals Crystal Palace, who are are looking for a first win in seven top-flight fixtures.

Twenty-five of the last 26 goals scored in PL meetings between Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur have been scored in the second half. There has only been one first-half goal in the last 14 clashes.

When considering Liverpool has scored 20 goals from its eight home matches across all competitions this season – including eight in its last two – Fulham might be about to concede a cricket score at Anfield.

They were impressive in their 3-1 win over Brighton last week but have not been overly successful against Chelsea in recent years.

What a way to end the weekend and head into the international break, this Manchester Derby might not be as straightforward as some would have you think.
