EPL Week 12 Preview: Stats, Insights & Everything You Need To Know

November 9, 2018

By Lindsay

Week 12 of the EPL is here and with it being the final weekend of Premier League action before the November international break we expect some great performances.

CARDIFF VS BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION – SATURDAY 10 NOVEMBER, 12:30 PM, CARDIFF CITY STADIUM

Brighton & Hove Albion are targeting a return to winning ways after their run of three straight victories was halted by Everton.

They visit a Cardiff City side who are seeking to bounce back from two defeats and move out of the bottom three.

This game has the makings of a low scoring battle with Cardiff struggling to score this season for the most part and Brighton being rather solid defensively (last week’s loss to Everton notwithstanding).

Insights:

  • Brighton has lost just one of its last 11 league matches against Cardiff.
  • The ‘Under 2.5 Goals’ market has hit in four of Brighton’s last five EPL matches.
  • The ‘Both Teams to Score’ market has failed to hit in four of Brighton’s last five EPL matches.

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN VS WEST HAM – SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER, 3:00 PM, JOHN SMITH’S STADIUM

Huddersfield are aiming to secure a second successive Premier League victory for the first time since February. West Ham are bidding to do the same for the first time since January 2017.

Huddersfield has scored just five goals all season and there are serious questions about whether or not they have the firepower to chase down West Ham.

Insights:

  • The ‘Under 2.5 Goals’ market has hit in 10 of Huddersfield’s last 11 EPL home matches.
  • The ‘Both Teams to Score’ market has failed to hit in each of Huddersfield’s last 11 EPL home matches.
  • Marko Arnautovic has scored a goal in five of his last eight EPL appearances.

TIP: West Ham     BET NOW

LEICESTER CITY VS BURNLEY – SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER, 3:00 PM, KING POWER STADIUM

Leicester City are aiming to build on their victory at Cardiff City, while Burnley are seeking to stop a three-match losing run.

Leicester are the only side to have scored in all of their 11 Premier League matches so far this season. It is only the second time they have achieved that feat, after 2015/16 when they won the title.

Claude Puel’s side hope to stop conceding the opening goal in their PL home matches. They have done so in their last four top-flight fixtures at King Power Stadium, winning one, drawing one and losing two.

Insights:

  • The home team has won each of the last four EPL matches between Leicester and Burnley.
  • The ‘Both Teams to Score’ market has hit in each of Leicester’s last four EPL home matches.
  • Johann Gudmundsson has scored a goal in two of Burnley’s last three EPL away matches.

NEWCASTLE VS BOURNEMOUTH – SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER, 3:00 PM, ST JAMES’ PARK

Finally off the mark in 2018/19 through its victory over Watford last weekend, Newcastle United will look to get on a roll when Bournemouth makes the trip to St. James’ Park.

Newcastle are aiming to secure a second successive top-flight victory for the first time since April.

AFC Bournemouth have to chance to win a third consecutive top-flight away match for the first time ever. They last achieved that feat in the league in their final three Championship away fixtures in 2014/15.

Insights:

  • Newcastle United has lost five of its last six EPL home matches.
  • Bournemouth has kept a clean sheet in three of its last four EPL matches.
  • Callum Wilson has scored four goals in Bournemouth’s last four EPL matches.

TIP: Bournemouth     BET NOW

SOUTHAMPTON VS WATFORD – SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER, 3:00 PM, ST MARY’S STADIUM

A quick examination of Watford’s last five games might raise some concerns.

Three losses and just two wins will not exactly inspire a whole lot of confidence but when you consider who those losses have come against, that should alleviate some of the concerns.

Only one of Southampton’s 21 home league meetings with Watford has ended in a draw – a 1-1 tie in August 2016. The Saints have won 14 of the encounters to Watford’s six.

Insights:

  • Southampton has won only one of its last 16 EPL home matches.
  • The ‘Both Teams to Score’ market has failed to hit in six of Southampton’s last seven EPL day matches.
  • Abdoulaye Doucoure has scored a goal in each of the last three EPL matches between Southampton and Watford.

CRYSTAL PALACE VS TOTTENHAM – SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER, 5:30 PM, SELHURST PARK

Tottenham Hotspur are targeting a seventh victory from eight Premier League away matches this season as they visit London rivals Crystal Palace, who are are looking for a first win in seven top-flight fixtures.

Twenty-five of the last 26 goals scored in PL meetings between Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur have been scored in the second half. There has only been one first-half goal in the last 14 clashes.

Insights:

  • Tottenham has won each of its last six EPL matches against Crystal Palace.
  • The ‘Under 2.5 Goals’ market has hit in five of Crystal Palace’s last six EPL home matches.
  • Erik Lamela has scored a goal in each of his last three appearances in EPL away matches.

LIVERPOOL VS FULHAM – SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER, 12:00 PM, ANFIELD

Liverpool are seeking a return to winning ways after conceding a late equaliser against Arsenal, while Fulham are aiming to stop a run of five top-flight defeats and move off the foot the of the table.

When considering Liverpool has scored 20 goals from its eight home matches across all competitions this season – including eight in its last two – Fulham might be about to concede a cricket score at Anfield.

Insights:

  • Liverpool has won each of its last four EPL matches against Fulham.
  • Liverpool has kept a clean sheet in nine of its last 10 EPL home matches.
  • Across all competitions, Mohamed Salah has been the first goal-scorer in eight of his last 14 starts at Anfield.

CHELSEA VS EVERTON – MONDAY 12 NOVEMBER, 2:15 PM, STAMFORD BRIDGE

Eight wins and three draws and Chelsea’s unbeaten run to the season continues, Everton meanwhile have hit their stride as of late with four wins from their last five.

They were impressive in their 3-1 win over Brighton last week but have not been overly successful against Chelsea in recent years.

In their last five meetings, they have lost four games and drawn their most recent encounter.

Insights

  • Chelsea has won eight of its last nine EPL matches against Everton following a win.
  • The ‘Over 3.5 Goals’ market has hit in four of Chelsea’s last five EPL matches as a home favourite.
  • Alvaro Morata has been the first goal-scorer in each of Chelsea’s last two EPL matches.

ARSENAL VS WOLVERHAMPTON – MONDAY 12 NOVEMBER, 4:30 PM, EMIRATES STADIUM

Arsenal are aiming to extend their unbeaten run to 10 Premier League matches as they host Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are seeking to arrest a three-match losing sequence.

It has been four league games since Arsenal kept a clean sheet but this could be the week they do it with a side bereft of confidence in front of goal.

Insights:

  • Arsenal has won 25 of its last 26 EPL matches as a home favourite.
  • The ‘Under 2.5 Goals’ market has hit in each of Wolverhampton’s last nine EPL day matches.
  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored 10 goals in Arsenal’s last 10 EPL matches as a home favourite.

TIP: Arsenal -1.0     BET NOW

MANCHESTER CITY VS MANCHESTER UNITED – MONDAY 12 NOVEMBER, 4:30 PM, ETIHAD STADIUM

What a way to end the weekend and head into the international break, this Manchester Derby might not be as straightforward as some would have you think.

Last season United were able to postpone City’s title party with a 3-2 win at the Etihad and they make the trip there once more.

We all know about City’s unbeaten start to the season and they will be dreading the thought of losing it to their neighbours.

Man City have not lost any of their last 53 Premier League matches against sides starting the day outside the top four (W44 D9 L0), since a 4-0 loss at Everton in January 2017.

Insights:

  • Manchester City has won each of its last seven EPL home matches.
  • The ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ market has hit in 21 of Manchester City’s last 24 EPL home matches.
  • The ‘Both Teams to Score’ market has hit in each of Manchester United’s last seven EPL matches.
