EPL Preview & Analysis: Everton Vs Tottenham

6 years ago - Sportingbase EPL Preview & Analysis: Everton Vs Tottenham Image

It may not be the two in-form teams of the competition with Tottenham Hotspur looking for their first win in four matches after dropping to 11th and Everton with three points from their last six matches but we’re sure this will be a great battle.

There is a reason both of these sides are in the bottom half of the Premier League table and while Tottenham should win, they’ve lost plenty of those games already this season.

Everton are aiming to bounce back after their late 3-2 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion, which leaves them two points above the relegation zone in 16th place.

Tottenham will be relying on their go to man Harry Kane who has scored six goals already this season and another four in the Champions League.

Did you know?
  • Spurs and Everton are meeting in a Premier League match while both starting the day in the bottom half for the first time since April 2004, when David Moyes’s Toffees beat David Pleat’s visitors 3-1 at Goodison Park.
  • Everton have lost their last two home matches against Spurs 3-0 and 6-2. They have never lost three consecutive top-flight home fixtures by at least three goals against an opponent.
  • Spurs are targeting their first victory in 12 away matches. They are on their longest such winless run since a sequence of 14 between May 2000 and January 2001 under George Graham.
  • Christian Eriksen has scored in his last four appearances against Everton and has five goals in total against the Toffees in the competition. Only against Swansea has he netted more, with six.
