Aston Villa v Newcastle

Newcastle started strongly but it has fallen apart since. They just can’t create anything, let alone score. Villa lost last time out to Man City but they have been in good form and they can bounce back with a big win here.

Steve Bruce’s job looks like it could be precarious and a loss here could push him closer to the exit door. Villa can win this one, and do it comfortably.

Southampton v Arsenal

Arsenal have really found some form. The introduction of younger players to the line up has really given them some energy and last time out we saw how seriously they are taking this competition. Southampton have been up and down of late and don’t look to have enough right now.

Brighton get lower division opposition here and they can show their class. I am such a big fan of what they are doing, but they need to add a striker. But that will not matter here. They are a good team defensively and up against Blackpool they can put them to the sword.
