It wasn’t that long ago that Manchester United were looking like they were heading towards Arsenal, rather than the top. But some great form has seen them emerge as a real contender. They can start the year with an important win over Aston Villa.

Tottenham v Leeds

Tottenham got an unexpected and much needed rest during this busy period when their game with Fulham was called off. They can take advantage of this against Leeds. The away team’s fast and aggressive style means it can hit them physically and the extra rest can be the difference.

Crystal Palace v Sheffield United

We enter the new year and Sheffield United are still winless. They have gone from being so good last season to one of the worst teams in Premier League history and it is hard to see how they turn this around. Crystal Palace are a decent team with players like Wilfried Zaha that can unlock the Sheffield United defence.

Brighton v Wolves

A battle of two strong teams that just do not score enough goals. I am a big fan of Brighton but unless they can add a goalscorer in January then I think they are going to be involved in the relegation battle. Wolves are clear of that, for now, but this game has draw written all over it. The under feels quite likely but I just do not like the value of it so I am staying away.
