According to NFL Trade Rumors on Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles have traded two-time Pro Bowler outside linebacker Haason Reddick of Camden, New Jersey to the New York Jets. In return, the Eagles are receiving a conditional third round draft pick in the 2026 National Football League draft. The draft pick becomes a second round draft pick if Reddick has 10 sacks and plays in 67.5% of the snaps on defense for the Jets this season.

It should be noted that Reddick has had a minimum of 10 sacks in each of the last four seasons. He had 12.5 sacks with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020, 11 sacks with the Carolina Panthers in 2021, a career-high 16 sacks with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 and 11 sacks with the Eagles in 2023. When Reddick had 16 sacks in 2022, he was second in the National Football League. The only player with more sacks was San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who had 18.5 sacks.

Reddick is joining his fourth NFL franchise. He previously played four seasons with the Cardinals from 2017 to 2020, one season with the Panthers in 2021, and the last two seasons with the Eagles.

In 2023, Reddick had 38 combined tackles (29 solo tackles and nine assisted tackles), 13 tackles for a loss, 23 quarterback hits, and one pass deflection. The pass deflection came in a 28-23 Eagles win over the Dallas Cowboys on November 5. He was also selected to the Pro Bowl for the second year in a row.

In 2022, Reddick had 49 combined tackles (35 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles), 11 tackles for a loss, 26 quarterback hits, three pass deflections, and three fumble recoveries for one yard. He also led the NFL with five forced fumbles.
