JAMES Cummings is looking for a peak run from three-year-old colt Cylinder and to make it three starts for three wins when he tackles the Golden Rose at Rosehill.
Cummings compared Cylinder to his winner of the Golden Rose in 2019 Bivouac but felt he had an edge on him as that horse wasn’t necessarily a 1400 metres horse.

Cummings has been taken by the son of Exceed And Excel this time in and believes he will peak tomorrow.
Cylinder is $4.20 favourite with PlayUp and will be ridden by Nash Rawiller.
Cummings speaking on Racing HQ said he had a lot of confidence in Cylinder and the way he has proceeded this campaign.
“Cylinder was our standout two-year-old last season and we are just delighted that he’s trained on and I don’t think we have seen the best of him yet,” Cummings said.
Cummings said Cylinder showed his quality with his win in the Run To The Rose as he didn’t have the best of runs.
“To overcome that with 110m to go and get out and sprint to the line and win not only proved the acceleration he’s got, but also that he has a significant amount of stored energy going into the Golden Rose this weekend.”
We’ve gotta have confidence in our horse and that’s the way we’ve proceeded.”
“I’d say Nash is pretty pleased with the draw and I think there’s every chance it’s going to work out in Cylinder’s favour this time.”
“Cylinder has the mix of great gate speed and the ability to relax when required.”
