Cavs’ Allen inks 3-year max extension
August 1, 2024
Jarrett Allen has agreed to a three-year, $91 million max extension with the Cavaliers, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 26-year-old is now guaranteed $131 million over the next five seasons.
He becomes the third Cavalier this offseason to re-up with the team joining teammates Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley.
An All-Star in 2022, Allen has developed into an integral piece in Cleveland and now finds himself locked in as a key member of the team’s core.
He is fresh off a year in which he averaged 16.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg on 66.4 TS% in 77 starts before succumbing to a rib injury in the playoffs.
Allen was traded to Cleveland in January, 2021 as a part of a four-team deal that landed James Harden in Brooklyn.
