Carlos Alcaraz of Spain has won the 2026 Qatar Open. He was one of two tennis players to win in the Middle East over the weekend. Alcaraz was joined by Jessica Pegula, who won the Dubai Tennis Championship, on the WTA Tour.

In the final, it was a dominant performance by the world number one. He defeated Arthur Fils of France, 6-2, 6-1.

Alcaraz had five aces compared to zero for Fils. Alcaraz also won 89% of his first serve points, 80% of his second serve points, and broke Fils five times in seven opportunities. Fils only won 45% of his first serve points, 42% of his second serve points and did not have a break point opportunity.

The three games lost in the final to Fils are the least number of games Alacarz has lost in a complete championship final on the ATP Tour. When Alcaraz beat Jannik Sinner of Italy 5-0 in the 2025 Cincinnati Open, the match was not complete as Sinner withdrew after the first five games due to illness.

The match only took 50 minutes to complete, and with the win, Alcaraz has now an ATP title in 14 different countries. In addition to the aforementioned titles in Qatar and the United States, he has also won in Australia, France, Argentina, Brazil, China, Croatia, Italy, Japan, Monaco, the Netherlands, Spain, and Great Britain.

This was Alcaraz’s second title victory in 2026. Earlier this month he won the Australian Open for the first time. In the final, Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic of Serbia, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5.

Alcaraz is first in the world with 13550 points. Sinner is second with 10400 points.
