Cameron Munster’s manager says a move to a Sydney club is firmly on the table, with the Melbourne Storm star “open to all options” as he heads towards free agency on 1 November.
Manager Justin Caines made the comments to CODE Sports, Fox Sports reported on Sunday 25 October, pushing back on earlier reports that the Queensland great was not keen on playing in Sydney.
“I can tell you, we are not ruling out a move to Sydney,” Caines said.
“We’re open to all options. We have made no secret about the fact we’re heading to November 1 and Sydney is certainly an option.
“Cameron is a family man, he is a captain, and he is a leader. We have no concerns about him living or playing anywhere.”
Why Munster is on the market
Munster is set to become one of the biggest names available when the NRL’s free agency window opens on 1 November, after he and the Storm failed to agree on a contract extension beyond the 2027 season. Fox Sports reported he rejected a two-year, $1.5 million offer from Melbourne that was significantly lower than his previous deal.
He has been strongly linked to incoming clubs the PNG Chiefs and Perth Bears, as well as the Brisbane Broncos.

The Craig Bellamy factor
Munster has played his entire NRL career at the Storm since debuting in 2014 and has never been on the open market before. The two-time premiership winner has said a key factor in his decision is whether Craig Bellamy will remain Melbourne coach beyond 2027.
“I’ve played my whole footy with Craig. I respect the guy, nothing but love for him and I’m not too sure what he wants to do,” Munster said ahead of the Rugby League World Cup.
“He can’t give me that, so I’ve got to do what’s best for my family. I have to make sure my family’s in a good spot wherever that will be.”
