The Dolphins have scored their first big re-signing of the NRL offseason, tying down fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow for the next few years just days before he could have spoken to rival clubs.
Redcliffe brass have been at the negotiation table since their preliminary final exit in early October, with Tabuai-Fidow, superstar centres Herbie Farnworth and Jack Bostock, and veteran prop Tom Flegler all among a long list of starting players who will soon be off-contract beyond 2027.

Herbie, Bostock, and “The Hammer” have been the top priority, though it’s looking more and more likely the former two will leave for Sydney and Wollongong respectively.
The Dolphins have locked down at least one superstar, with a deal with Tabuai-Fidow struck this week. It should now be announced sometime in the next fortnight or so, once the 2026 Rugby League World Cup wraps up.
Keeping their No.1 may be the most important piece of the puzzle, considering Bostock and Farnworth seem destined to leave; the Queensland club can now focus on building around Tabuai-Fidow and Isiaya Katoa — already signed for 2028 — as well as Jeremy Marshall-King and a new five-eighth.
Kodi Nikorima is heading out the door before 2027, when he will link up with the rebuilding St George Illawarra Dragons. He will be replaced by George Williams.
There are other re-signings happening in Redcliffe as well, with ESPN reporting that Connelly Lemuelu is now close to putting pen to paper on a new multi-year deal at the club. The length of the deal wasn’t shared, but it’s likely the 28-year-old will be staying until at least the 2029 season.
All focus will now move to the centres, with the Dolphins still hoping they can convince Farnworth (playing for England at the World Cup right now) and Bostock (with Australia) to stay at least one or two more years.
Both are playing this weekend: Farnworth on Friday, Bostock on Saturday afternoon.
