The South Sydney Rabbitohs have signed a three-year deal with one of England’s rising stars, young Super League champion Lewis Dodd, who has been tearing up the northern league with St Helens.
Dodd is signed through to 2027 and will link up with South Sydney next season, when the club is also expected to have a new head coach helming the campaign.

The English halfback has long been a superstar in the Super League, winning a premiership and the Challenge Cup since debuting in 2020. He was vital to St Helens’ victory over the Panthers in the 2023 World Club Challenge, kicking the winning field goal to down the then-two-time NRL champions.
He has scored 26 tries, 13 goals, and one field goal in his five seasons in England.
The Rabbitohs will count Dodd’s signature as a particularly big win considering how close the Dolphins and Dragons got to signing the 22-year-old recently. Redcliffe’s expansion outfit was in the hot seat because of Kristian Woolf, who coached Dodd at St Helens, while St George Illawarra tabled a very juicy pay packet.
“Lewis is one of the rising stars in England and he indicated to us that he wanted to test himself in the NRL and the Rabbitohs were the club he wanted to do that with,” Rabbitohs head of football Mark Ellison said after the club announced the signing.

“He is only 22 years of age, but he has already won a Super League Premiership and a World Club Challenge with St Helens and he has all of the attributes it takes to make it in the NRL.”
