The Denver Broncos have ruled out All-Pro cornerback Patrick Surtain II and safety Talanoa Hufanga for Thursday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks, according to the team’s final Week 6 injury report.
CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated reported the designations ahead of the clash at Empower Field at Mile High. Kick-off is Friday morning Australian time (Thursday night in the US).
Hufanga is out with an ankle injury sustained in Denver’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He did not practise Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, and SI reported the issue is expected to sideline him for the next few games.
Surtain II is also out with an ankle injury from Week 4. 9NEWS’ Mike Klis reported there is hope he can return for next week’s matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, SI said.

Moss questionable; Seahawks also shorthanded
Fellow cornerback Riley Moss is questionable with a ribs issue after three straight limited practices. Jahdae Barron and/or Kris Abrams-Draine are the next men up if Moss joins Surtain on the inactive list, SI reported.
Safety Brandon Jones (foot), left guard Ben Powers (biceps) and defensive lineman Sai’vion Jones (shoulder) were full practice participants with no game designations and are expected to play.
Seattle has ruled out running back Zach Charbonnet and linebackers Drake Thomas and Chazz Surratt. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba cleared for the game after an ankle issue earlier in the week, per SI and CBS Sports.

Short week
“I would say this, it’s time,” Broncos coach Sean Payton said Monday of preparing on a short week. “There are two things, time and then the second thing is proper recovery from the last game. For each player, getting their body ready for a short work week, so that the time and the recovery—those are the two things that hit me right away with that question.”
